Custom-Tailored Training in a Real In-Home Environment
We know those first few days, weeks, and months of your puppy’s new family life are critical for his/her happy and healthy development and a lifetime of harmony in your home.
That’s why we offer a number of different training programs that can be custom-tailored to meet your family’s individual needs. While we strongly recommend a minimum of Block 1 (4 weeks), the length of your puppy’s stay depends on your personal request and expectations as a puppy owner.
How our Training Program Works
Your puppy will transition into a trainer’s home and become an active member of their family. The trainer will work with your puppy on a daily basis in their home until your puppy comes home. Once the puppy enters into training, the trainer will stay in communication with you via, email, texts, calls, and weekly videos.
• Our program was developed from decades of experience working with Smeraglia Doodles.
• We make their training experiences enjoyable (providing treats or toys).
• We will gradually introduce your puppy to new things, environments and people.
• We don’t push puppies into fearful situations – we take things slowly and allow puppies to adjust and get used to the situation.
• We will provide love and affection as well as a secure comforting demeanor to help build a relationship with their people.
• All puppies are kept up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and medical protocol while they are training.
• We send a video of each puppy and its trainer to the puppy’s family each week they are in our Doodle Prep School.
• We send your puppy home with a kit of supplies and instructions to continue the training process once home with you.
• Virtual training options available for follow-up and continued training.

Our program is very detailed and precise. Goldendoodle, Schnoodle & Twoodle puppies have to be taught systematically, with each concept building to the next block. Our program was developed to teach new concepts and then reinforce them in each week going forward.
Starter Puppy Program
The first four weeks of training are the absolute most important and if you can only do a portion of our training we highly recommend enrolling your puppy for Block 1 which consists of weeks 1-4.

Star Puppy Program
During the first eight weeks of school, we lay the foundation for all future training. Every week is layering upon all previous weeks. This Block pushes the foundational training by continually asking for better behaviors to earn the same rewards. We should also be seeing reliability with house-training and manners.

They are evaluated after each block by the trainer supervisor before advancing to the next block of training.
Social Puppy Program
This next Block of training begins the process of catering more specifically to the clients’ needs. Socialization and practice expand to new environments as the puppy starts going out and about.

In our final Block we complete our 16 week Companion training program, designed to train your puppy through the initial, and sometimes difficult stages and phases of puppyhood. This Complete Companion program provides the best possible foundation for all future training and goals for your puppy.

Rest assured, your puppy will be given much love and affection while at Prep School.
Prep School typically starts on Thursday and ends the following Wednesday. This allows for Thursday deliveries and/or Thursday pickups. If you are unable to pick up on Thursday or have your puppy delivered on Thursday, your puppy may continue their training at a cost of $125 per day to accommodate your schedule.
We encourage picking up your puppy in person. We go out of our way to make the “Gotcha Day” an experience you will never forget.
Communicating with the Trainers
The majority of our trainers’ time is spent training your puppy. To get your questions or concerns addressed as quickly as possible, please contact our Prep School Coordinator via email at [email protected] or call our office: (251) 960-1311. Any questions or concerns directed specifically to your trainer will be addressed in your weekly video update. Your trainer will let you know if any concerns arise while in school.
